Hello,
There were many reboots of the Westin edge router this evening. This was
to track down what is believed to be a software bug recently introduced
into the router's OS that breaks OPP users. Apologies if you were
affected, but this was the most viable way to track things down. Here's
the bug report I was able to write up based on the analysis:
https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=118202#p596927
As we wait for MikroTik to fix the problem, we're stuck on an older release.
The original goal of the upgrade was so much more interesting than
finding bugs -- it was to enable AES-NI hardware encryption acceleration
for our inter-datacenter IPsec tunnels so that we can go beyond
500Mbit/s on those links. That'll have to wait now, and somehow we'll
have to get by with 500Mbit speeds.

Hi- I am in Oso WA, but my shack is on a ridge with a 72’ tower, and I believe I may very well have adequate line of sight down the Stilly Valley to Paine or Marysville. Is there someone who could help me with testing the site before I commit to buying equipment??

Yes. They'd make a very excellent client node. If you haven't had a survey take place before, I recommend that you reach out to the community and request that. Nothing worse than getting all the gear just to find out a neighbor's house blocks your link.

That wont work; that radio's wireless chip can't go to channel widths less than 20 MHz, and HamWAN uses 10 MHz channels. Generally, you're safe to use mikrotik gear that is not 802.11 AC, unless it has the QCA9892 chip (that's AC and it can do 5/10 MHz channels).
