Baldi
  1. Replacement sectors / hardware to upgrade to dual band (I have all the hardware now)
  2. Replacement NetMetal / Dish to replace Beacon.Baldi PtP, if in fact it is needed to bring this link back online. (I have the netmetal and will work out the dish with Doug)
  3. ToDo: Re-IP the three sectors and move off the 44.24.240.x subnet (I will do this when configuring the sectors prior to installation)
    1. Depending on how many static IP / links have been set up on the sectors, I might need some help here.
ETiger
  1. Get approval again from Rich-KF7BJI to install the 60Ghz link hardware and HamWAN router in the Silke building
    1. Install 60Ghz radio/antenna on Silke tower (I am hoping it will fit on the same mount as the POV camera)
    2. Run new Cat5e cable (the cable run and mounts are already installed when I remounted the camera several years ago)
    3. Install the HamWAN router in the rack, create link to Silke router and move the POV camera over to HamWAN router
  2. Get approval again from PSRRG to install the other end of the 60Ghz link at the main site
    1. Will require installing the 60Ghz antenna/radio on tower (A spot was identified a couple years ago, hoping still available)
    2. Install cat5 mounts, since they didn't seem to be installed previously and run new cat5 into hut
    3. possibly shift around devices on R1.etiger to open up port for new radio
I am guessing doing #2 first makes more sense and then completing #1. Probably the biggest challenge is lining up the approvals again (was originally all done pre-Covid and pre-DNR mess). Besides getting the ETiger camera back, the on other long term benefit is being able to add another PtP to the Silke tower and/or another sector.(I am now leaning to another PtP link if a target can be identified, like Buck?)

Buck - I completely forgot about this one in my original e-mail...
  1. biological interference maintenance / removal
  2. Move the now dead Gold.Buck PtP to point to another site and re-enable a second link into the site.
  3. Anything else Rob?

Thanks
Kenny

What do you need for both sites Kenny?  If we can get a list together we can see what is needed that we don’t already have and get it ordered.  Lead times are my biggest concern here.

Subject: Re: [HamWAN PSDR] 2023 HamWAN season projects - INPUT NEEDED!

While #1 (Baldi) is at the top of my list to get done this year, I'd also like to make some progress on ETiger if I can line up the approvals. Specifically I'd like to put in a 60Ghz link between the two buildings (removing the need for using a sector), add a HamWAN router to the second building and finally fix the camera. I think the ETiger camera was one of the most popular for people outside of HamWAN.

Thanks

Good evening all,

It’s that time of year again where we need to start putting together the list of projects to try to accomplish for the year.

I would like to get input from anyone who has a project they would like to see accomplished this year.  Priority focus will be on those items requiring mountain top access as those are our most time or weather sensitive items.

Below is a starting list of projects I know at least bits about:

1)      Baldi visit – upgrade sectors to MIMO and/or PTP work(?)

2)      Lookout visit – effect repairs on Lookout/SnoDEM PTP dish (likely cable fault)

3)      Indianola setup – in process / being finished by Doug and others

What else?  As mentioned, it doesn’t need to be a site/tower project, but those are the primary focus during good weather.

Let me know and I’ll get it on the list so we can try to gather and coordinate resources as needed.

Cheers,

Rob Salsgiver – NR3O
