For those not aware, Oregon HamWAN (https://www.oregonhamwan.org) has received an $88K grant from ARDC to establish HamWAN in the Portland area, with connections to PSDR and to Salem, Oregon. We have some equipment on hand, with more on order. We are working to negotiate contracts with various tower owners and to configure equipment. We were hoping to establish a connection through BawFaw.

If there is anyone interested in assisting with our efforts, we would welcome your help.

For the Vancouver / Portland region, this isn't all that surprising of a result though.  A region can't rely on just 1 cell site, as they will naturally come and go.  Redundancy needs to be built up by the local hams over the years if continuous network availability is desired.  I take this withdrawal of coverage as a sign that there wasn't sufficient interest in the region to make it happen.
