Hello, Thanks Bart! I hope this will get my daughter to show at least some interest in what ham radio can do. She loves to play minecraft and if I can get this working on our end maybe she will be a bit more inquisitive when it comes to ham radio. (Especially after I tell her, time connected to "HAMcraft" doesn't count against her "allotment".) I just hope that our local version of HamWAN (MI6WAN https://w8cmn.net/mi6wan/) doesn't ban this kind of thing. It is virtually identical to HamWAN but not "certified" because they use different frequency standards. Anyway, thanks again. Chuck, I don't recall reading a list of things you CANNOT use HamWAN for. Only that you cannot use encryption. If they set limits on the internet in the early days we would not be where we are now. Cannot restrict everything and expect any sort of good development to ever happen.
The limits re:encryption are as far as it should go, other than blatant abuse such as downloading massive amounts or doing other things that affect the performance of the network I do not see how there is any harm in trying to see the usefulness of the network while having a little fun.

I prefer that such things become specific prohibitions and maybe even punishable offenses since they can jeopardize our having any privileges. There is no political up side for diversionary gaming. I've come to realize that games seem compatible with Part 97. So let's run a test of this on HamWAN. I've setup a Minecraft Bedrock server on " minecraft.hamwan.net" port 19133. The world has been initiated from the seed "HamWAN". :) If you'd like to build some ham radio related world, please join and have a go. I expect many antennas!
I've set the game rules to pvp=off (no hitting each other), and showcoordinates=true (so people can find each other).
I'd like to hear reports of how the gaming experience is over HamWAN, so access to the server is limited to ARDC addresses only. That is, you've gotta be connecting from 44.0.0.0/9 or 44.128.0.0/10 address space.
