The sensitivity threshold on that receiver is specified at -95 dBm, but the -87 dBm you're seeing is about the weakest I've ever seen anyone able to connect. A usable signal would be above -80 dBm and a good signal would be -70 dBm and above. It would be great if you could come up with an additional 17 dB, either through improved aiming, mounting location, or a higher gain antenna.

Did I miss some setup step? Do I need to get my MAC address whitelisted or something?
I wiped the settings and started over, and now I'm getting a different failure:

I rebooted, and then tried to use the WebFig interface to scan and connect. Again I saw the network, but the connection never succeeded. Got this in the log:
