I currently am using wrt54g linksys routers for Broadband Hamnet. I have not yet purchased any 5ghz gear. I'm in Shoreline and interested in HamWAN, however my site has alot of trees.I'm concerned there might be too many trees surrounding my site to connect. Is there anybody in the organization with a mobile setup that would help test my site before I invest in equipment?

That's a pretty common old hackable router, but I don't know how well it works with the HamWAN. Have you had success using it so far? What sort of antenna are you using with it? On Sat, Aug 27, 2016 at 4:38 PM, Todd Lilleness <liltodd65@gmail.com> wrote:

To be clear, the WRT54G does not interoperate with HamWAN. Broadband Hamnet is a 2.4 GHz mesh network that is not compatible technology wise with HamWAN. We like to say that HamWAN is good as the backbone, providing wide area connectivity, and Broadband Hamnet/Mesh is an option for more localized distribution that can be connected to the LAN end of a HamWAN client node.
