Hello, As some of you have noticed, Gold Mtn has been having power issues the last couple of months. To mitigate this, we'd like to convert it onto a DC battery bank system. This requires 2 new item purchases: 1) A 24V battery bank to run the site for a few days in case of power outage 2) A DC PDU (Power Distribution Unit / PoE injector) to control and monitor power usage The battery bank is $500 for 240Ah @ 24V. The PDU is $231.03. The total for this spending request is therefore $731.03. Only directors may vote to approve the spend, but anyone is welcome to comment with input during the next 24 hours. Thanks, --Bat
Woops, forgot to add ~$100 for an RSP-500-27 AC->DC charger. Let's make that $831.03 total now. --Bart On 3/21/2018 12:36 PM, Bart Kus wrote:

Close Tom, The GitHub link you mentioned is for the old standard PDU, not the PoE PDU. See https://github.com/nigelvh/K7NVH-PoE-PDU <https://github.com/nigelvh/K7NVH-PoE-PDU> instead. Nigel

Bank should be ~5.7kWh. 3 sectors up there and 3 NetMetal modems, as well as a 900MHz modem and a CRS125 switch. The sectors should take about 5.5W each, the NetMetals, 900MHz and CRS125 weren't measured but let's assume 10W each there. So that looks like 65W total to me, for a runtime of ~88 hours, or 3.7 days. And oh yeah, the PDU draws a little too. We can also do load-shedding manually during an outage. --Bart On 3/21/2018 5:41 PM, Darcy Buskermolen wrote:

As some of you have noticed, Gold Mtn has been having power issues the last couple of months. To mitigate this, we'd like to convert it onto a DC battery bank system. This requires 2 new item purchases:
1) A 24V battery bank to run the site for a few days in case of power outage 2) A DC PDU (Power Distribution Unit / PoE injector) to control and monitor power usage
The battery bank is $500 for 240Ah @ 24V. The PDU is $231.03. The total for this spending request is therefore $731.03.
Only directors may vote to approve the spend, but anyone is welcome to comment with input during the next 24 hours.
Thanks,
