Grant Received to Deploy Oregon HamWAN from Vancouver Washington to Salem Oregon
Great news: Oregon HamWAN has received a substantial grant to deploy Oregon HamWAN on 12 towers between Vancouver Washington and Salem Oregon, and connect to the Puget Sound Data Ring. More information about this grant and a map showing the proposed towers is available here: https://www.oregonhamwan.org/ardc.html <https://www.oregonhamwan.org/ardc.html>. We invite you to subscribe to the Oregon HamWAN email list here: https://www.oregonhamwan.org/about.html <https://www.oregonhamwan.org/about.html>. Herb Weiner, AA7HW
Excellent news! I am in N.E. Portland and have an active link from Larch that i really only use for a weather station, hamshack and a DMR hotspot. I have symmetrical gigabit commercial service at home with plenty of bandwidth to spare and offered an uplink node a year or so ago but it didn’t seem like there was a need. With Larch as a potential link to the rest of Oregon is there any need for an additional uplink? I do not have line of sight to any of the other proposed tower locations. Hello all, just a quick revisit to my winter question. Is there any progress in fixing the Tiger Summit cam off of HWY 18. If so does anyone have a good link they can share? Thanks! Tim

The EWTiger cam has been online for well over a month. But this last weekend the entire link to the building was knocked offline when a move to the link radio was completed. I don't have an ETA, but would like it fixed as well. The problem still needs to be diagnosed. On Tue, Jun 1, 2021 at 4:20 PM Timothy Wright via PSDR <psdr@hamwan.org> wrote:

I'm sad Bart never trademarked HamWAN to prevent people such as your group from sullying it's good name. -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net
