New HamWAN cell site in West Seattle
We have a new HamWAN cell site with S1 and S2 sectors from the Providence Mt. St. Vincent's Nursing Home in West Seattle. This site has views North and East, and locally to the South. The attached PDF gives a better estimate of coverage areas from this site. A rough summary is north Bainbridge Is., south end of Magnolia, the seattle downtown waterfront area, west Beacon Hill and the Duwamish river valley. There is also coverage for parts of West Seattle including Delridge Way and High Point. Please see the map for a better idea. The cell has a 60GHz link to Beacon and a backup link to East TIger at lower bandwidth, and the site has generator power. I would like to thank Tom Saunders N7OEP, Frank McJunkins K7RSD, and Nick Gerner KK7LZM, all members of the West Seattle Amateur Radio Club (WSARC) <http://w7aw.org>, for their help in getting this cell site operational. The site also supports a WSARC AREDN node with a 120º sector facing east-northeast. -Doug-, KD7DK HamWAN Netops
