I am using a 9db omni directional antenna on a ubiquiti bullet m2hp, ethernet cabled to my wrt54g as a bridged repeater in my rv. Set up as a wifi hotspot for now, in preparation for a Broadband Hamnet mesh node. I am interested in procuring some HamWan gear in the near future to get involved with the HamWan community. <div>-------- Original message --------</div><div>From: Colin Kincaid Williams <discord@uw.edu> </div><div>Date:08/27/2016 7:30 PM (GMT-08:00) </div><div>To: Puget Sound Data Ring <psdr@hamwan.org> </div><div>Cc: </div><div>Subject: Re: [HamWAN PSDR] site test </div><div> </div>That's a pretty common old hackable router, but I don't know how well it works with the HamWAN. Hi Todd,
Nigel from #HamWAN suggested asking about loaner gear. Do you have equipment, or are you too looking for equipment or help to evaluate your site?

I'm in Shoreline and interested in HamWAN, however my site has alot of trees.I'm concerned there might be too many trees surrounding my site to connect. Is there anybody in the organization with a mobile setup that would help test my site before I invest in equipment?

With the large amount of trees on the site I'm discussing, I don't think it's practical for me to get involved in hamwan. That is unless I mount something on top of a tree:) However that might be an effort all its' own. If anybody experienced with the setup would help me to confirm this, with or without equipment it would be appreciated. If not, I'll just assume that I'm correct with my lazy evaluation, that it isn't feasible due to trees. On Sun, Aug 28, 2016 at 3:51 AM, liltodd65 <liltodd65@gmail.com> wrote:

That's a pretty common old hackable router, but I don't know how well it works with the HamWAN. Have you had success using it so far? What sort of antenna are you using with it?
