Hello, I would like to bring 40 gal of fuel up to Haystack tomorrow. To transport this, I'll need 8 5-gallon cans. I would like to leave half of these up at the site for easy re-fueling in the future without the need to drag a fresh gas can all the way up on a snowmobile. We're lucky to have a snow cat available tomorrow to do the heavy lifting. I'll buy these out of pocket tonight, and will keep the receipt for billing HamWAN later. Cost should be ~$160. These will be clearly marked as HamWAN assets for future re-use elsewhere if needed. --Bart
I could bring maybe 4 or 5. Will take a look in the morning to see how many are ready to go. I have to go down to Tukwila for a WWARA meeting tomorrow and could drop them off then go down via 522. People don't seem to understand the simple usage of the vent-less 6.5 gal. water (white) and fuel (red) containers that I've purchased at a local Ace Hardware, but I've been very pleased with their inability to leak when transporting on their sides, such as on a simple sled behind a snowmobile with a lowest CM (center of mass). Dispensing the contained fluids has never been a problem here. Any study of applied physics will greatly benefit anybody and everybody as I'm sure you already know, Bart. Thanks for your dedicated work along these lines. I'm working with Bob who you already work with, on a Gold Mtn. D-Star repeater install.
