Hello PSDR team, I have seen that you guys are putting cameras at the different sites. Do you guys record these? Also what camera's do you recommend? Jamie Hughes WA7JH Phone: (360) 362-4575<tel:+13603624575>
They are not recorded, just re streamed so there is no heavy load on the network. Alot of them are Sunba cameras as far as I know. The one I have noticed is the best bang for the buck is the Sunba Illuminati that one can be seen as the Rattlesnake cam here: http://stream.westin.hamwan.net/ I was able to get a REALLY good picture of ~42 miles away mt baker that blew me away! So my vote is for the https://sunbatech.com/product/sunba-illuminati-auto-tracking-ptz-camera/ [image: image.png] [image: image.png] On Tue, Sep 8, 2020 at 3:06 PM Jamie Hughes <wa7jh@outlook.com> wrote:

Wow, pretty spectacular! I just looked myself and even at nightime the wildfire smoke blowing in from E WA shows how Mt Si and the lights of North Bend are somewhat obscured. Can’t wait to see this on a clear sunny day. Yea they are amazing. Sorry typo in the previous email I said mt baker (cause I live closer to mt baker and am used to saying that lol) That mountian in the pic from the rattlesnake cam is actually Mt. Rainier that as a bird flys is ~42 miles.. So a zoom on a camera that can see that clearly something that far away is amazing! Wow, that IS an impressive zoom! I didn't realize the Rattlesnake cam could get this close on Rainier from that far away! That's about as close as the Baldi cam can get on it, and it's located only 25mi away. I really hope HamWAN can retrofit these cams to all our sites. There will hopefully be one coming online shortly at the Triangle Mtn (Victoria, BC) HamWAN site. I also hope that during the coming winter we can work out a better re-streaming software solution, and provide semi-public PTZ control without loading down the RF network. Lots to do in video-over-HamWAN land! --Bart On 9/9/2020 1:17 AM, Jamie Owens wrote:
