Hello All, I’ve recently been wrapping up a personal project to receive the HRIT service (1.7GHz digital transmission) from the GOES-17 (AKA GOES-West) geostationary weather satellite. Through this my system is picking up high resolution images of earth, as well as a number of text products (forecasts/discussion/alerts/etc) from the EMWIN (Emergency Managers Weather Information Network). This system is running at my home and makes a nice addition as an on-network service for HamWAN (also available to the general internet as well). Please feel free to check it out at: http://goes.k7nvh.com <http://goes.k7nvh.com/> Currently I have the page set up to display the last 24 hours of data. I might consider adding an option to look back farther in the future, but for now this is where I’ve got it set. Bandwidth warning, some of the images, especially full disk images can be very large (~50MB), I recommend not trying to grab these on your phone’s data plan. Nigel
Wow - tha'ts some seriously nice work. I never knew all of that was available like that. What ever sparked your interest in putting something like this together? Cheers, Rob

Mostly just general interest. All these images/data products are available from NOAA on the web, but I’ve previously received the images from the polar orbiters at 137Mhz, and was curious to check out the geostationary birds. GOES-17 recently being moved into active service as GOES West (February of this year), was just another tick mark as it is one of the new GOES-R series satellites and carries all the extra imaging channels and additional text products in the EMWIN network.
