I, along with another of our North Bend ARES Team hams, purchased our antennas from EuroDK, which we found to be both *much* faster delivery (3-5 days via FedEx from order placement) and less expensive than suppliers here in the US (most of whom were quoting a couple months back-order and 40-50% higher price). I bought the LHG 5 and my buddy bought the SXTsq 5 (both international, ie not US versions), both are working well. Here’s a link to that supplier which you may wish to compare: https://www.eurodk.com/en/products/antennas Stephen W9SK From: PSDR <psdr-bounces@hamwan.org> On Behalf Of Jamie Owens Sent: Thursday, August 27, 2020 9:12 PM To: Puget Sound Data Ring <psdr@hamwan.org> Subject: Re: [HamWAN PSDR] New Node - Guidance on buying hardware and feasibility of link from my QTH This supplier has the antennas in stock, I got one this week https://www.ispsupplies.com/MikroTik-RouterBOARD-mANT30-PA On Thu, Aug 27, 2020 at 7:54 PM James Betteley <jabetteley@msn.com <mailto:jabetteley@msn.com> > wrote: Thank you to the group. The shipper for the antenna was scheduled to take upwards of a month. I managed to find it for a little bit more on eBay with free priority shipping from Lithuania. The configuration Doug sent is very easy and straightforward to follow. I’ve been a subscriber for some time. Watching, listening since being active on packet in the late 80’s thru 2001. I live in Port Ludlow where I would use The PTN node to connect to the digital world. That node doesn’t seem to be there any longer. Can you advise how I can gain connectivity to a node in your network and thus access a bbs for mail? Many thanks. You can do this yourself using http://www.heywhatsthat.com/profiler.html, to map the path from your house to one of those sites. We need to update the Sites page to have the cell site coordinates for you.
