Howdy, I'm new to the area and excited to get involved in PSDR. I got myself a MikroTik SXT 5nD r2 and I have good line of sight to the CapitolPark cell. After working my way through the Client Node Configuration instructions, I can see the AP with an SNR of 38 dB, but I'm unable to connect. Do I need to get my MAC address whitelisted or something? I wiped the settings and started over, and now I'm getting a different failure: [admin@AG6IE-CapitolPark] /interface wireless> scan 0 failure: other tool running I rebooted, and then tried to use the WebFig interface to scan and connect. Again I saw the network, but the connection never succeeded. Got this in the log: 00:22:35 wireless, info D4:CA:6D:30:75:89@wlan1: failed to connect, on 5920000, registration timeout -Eric AG6IE
Your signal just isn't strong enough to connect. The sensitivity threshold on that receiver is specified at -95 dBm, but the -87 dBm you're seeing is about the weakest I've ever seen anyone able to connect. A usable signal would be above -80 dBm and a good signal would be -70 dBm and above. It would be great if you could come up with an additional 17 dB, either through improved aiming, mounting location, or a higher gain antenna. Thanks, Tom! A bit of wiggling and a better spot and I got up to -80 dBm and connected flawlessly. On Mon, Nov 7, 2016, at 09:31 PM, Tom Hayward wrote:

That's great! It also confirms the software I wrote to let me know when new people connect is working. I got an email at about 6:30. Tom On Nov 25, 2016 19:31, "Eric Wolak" <ag6ie@wolak.net> wrote:
