Hello World.... I'm working on getting the Auburn EOC up on HamWAN. I have a DynaDish in a portable configuration running, which will become more permanent in the next few weeks. Loads of fun sticking a dish out the side door of the EOC and getting 3 bars off Baldi! Next questions, how does one go about setting up an IP phone and getting a number? Also, I have a SIP application on my iPhone (Bria) and so I am wondering if I can get a number for it as well. Can someone enlighten me? -- *-Scott, NS7C* [image: image.png]
Randy has been doing the registration for Seattle ACS, but you may want a block of numbers for your community. I think Nigel or Tom could help out there. Shared the ACS configuration instructions for the SNOM 821 with Scott in a separate email. -Doug- On Mon, Apr 22, 2019 at 5:47 PM Scott Currie <scott.d.currie@gmail.com> wrote:

Scott, I have you setup for now with the following extensions: EOC 1 – 8910 EOC2 – 8911 iPhone – 8912 If you don’t already have setup instructions Randy or I can get them to you. I didn’t realize you were with Auburn when I jumped in there, and I know Randy’s been working with a number of you folks down there on getting other aspects setup. He may have a different extension numbering scheme in mind for King County so these may change but they’re enough to get started (with the setup instructions). Hi Rob, Randy has not given me anything for the phones, so I will go with these for now. Thanks for jumping on this Rob. In the future lets move specific requests for network resources over to the netops@hamwan.org <mailto:netops@hamwan.org> list so we’re not flooding everybody with details or technical back and forth that isn’t relevant. Thanks, Nigel

The doc I gave Scott was a set of instructions we made for Seattle ACS Members to set up their SNOM 821 IP Phones. Some of that material does not apply widely. ie: In addition to a HamWAN extension number, Seattle ACS adds a second line appearance on our IP Phones for a separate SIP service using a server in Denver, CO. We have extension numbers aligned - for example my phone is 8099 on HamWAN, and 1099 on Seattle ACS. I suggest Municipal EmComm groups request a reasonable number of extension numbers in a sequence/block from HamWAN. A small town might want 5 extension numbers. A larger city might want 25. There are soft-phone SIP clients for Android/iPhones, so in a pinch, if you have the extension numbers and passwords pre-arranged, you can quickly add soft phone clients to the HamWAN phone system even if you don't have hardware IP phones available. There are a wide number of IP Phone choices. We've been having good success with SNOM 821 refurbished from from Amazon. $29.99 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0716QGP9R/ On Tue, Apr 23, 2019 at 6:09 PM Rob Salsgiver <rob@nr3o.com> wrote:
