My connection (K7DCJ-Buck) has been down for a few minutes a couple of dozen times in the last two days. Is the source of this known, or is it at my place? 73, Dave K7DCJ
You can query your device log (/log print) to see if you see YOUR RF link dropping. You can also get the link's current uptime (/int wir mon 0) to see if it's been up for days or just minutes. If your link is stable, it's likely a HamWAN problem deeper in the network. --Bart On 5/11/2020 10:09 AM, David Jenner via PSDR wrote:

Thanks for the info, Bart. I don't see any indication of uptime using /interface wireless monitor 0. The interface status seems to be nominal. Inspection of the logs indicate that the connection has be active for many (9?) days. That includes many (dozens of) downs/ups. My indication of down/up comes from outside monitoring by a service that pings every few minutes. That's what is indicating down. Also, my router (from the inside) indicates down/up based on latency and packet loss. That does produces alerts, but less frequently. I suspect that there may be a "problem" upstream of my dish? Is there some way of determining that? 73, Dave K7DCJ On 5/11/20 11:51 AM, Bart Kus wrote:

Yes, you can get more info about the problem if you run continuous traceroutes (eg: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTR_(software)). Both from the inside-out and outside-in would be useful data sets. They'll show you the transient routing problems. --Bart On 5/13/2020 6:33 AM, David C. Jenner wrote:

Hi Dave, You can get uptime for your link with the command: /in wi registration-table print The uptime should reflect the last time your radio registered with an AP. Thanks to those who told me how to check out my radio/dish. It was fine. Problem had to be before radio or after radio. It was after, on my site. Unless you are really interested, you can stop reading now. My dish/radio is on my pumphouse with a clear view to Buck Mtn, 800 feet from the shop with router in "Internet Central." To get from pumphouse to shop, I choose to use an old underground telephone line that was installed 35 years ago, and I installed VDSL on it. It's underground except for one 20-30 foot segment that crosses a driveway. It runs a couple of feet away from an old, high pressure, sodium vapor "barn lamp." The lamp is starting to fail (it's also probably 35 years old). The lamp goes on automatically during the time period I was having downs/ups on Buck HamWAN. The VDSL line is zippy, running at at least 100Mbps, but is apparently sensitive to fluctuations in lamp as it flickers. The telephone line is twisted pair and it's shielded, but apparently not up to the noise created nearby by the lamp. I've been meaning to replace that lamp for some time now, and I need to bury the last segment of the telephone line. 73, Dave K7DCJ On 5/11/20 10:09 AM, David Jenner via PSDR wrote:
